Our tradition of excellence was founded by Cuban architect Kenneth D. Levy, whom emigrated to Tampa in 1961. While working for a metal building dealership, Mr. Levy used his architectural engineering degree from Cuba to obtain his professional architectural license in 1968. Florida Pre-Fab was opened in 1972 with the concept to manufacture quality metal buildings designed for Florida and the export market. At first, the company designed and fabricated the buildings by fabricating structural steel and outsourcing the remaining components from other vendors.

By 1980, after shipping over 150 buildings to Argentina, the company purchased equipment that enabled it to control its panel and secondary structural manufacturing operations and become a fully-integrated metal building manufacturer.

After Kenneth Levy retired in 1994, the company has been directed under the leadership George E. Levy, President and Alex K. Levy, Vice President. George Levy is a Florida registered P.E. with a Bachelor of Science degree in Structural Engineering from the University of South Florida in Tampa. They have worked in the business since their High School years shortly after the company's inception.

Florida Pre-Fab, Inc. is a regional manufacturer of steel buildings serving the Florida and export markets. We offer a full line of systems for practical applications such as commercial, industrial, agricultural, religious and sports arenas. We also produce specialty buildings for Aviation and Marine uses as well. 

We aim to provide a quality product to the independent design-build contractor or developer in the metal building industry. Our focus is to create a building system with a blend of steel products that incorporates quality standards fitting to the humid conditions of Florida without over-specifying in order to maintain a competitive price. It is a value oriented approach to design and manufacturing which makes Florida Pre-Fab the right building for our customers.

Our design service for each project is individually analyzed by our engineering staff, while using the modern tools of advanced CAD programs. We submit drawings for each project that include detailed and complete erection drawings, anchor bolt plan, and pertinent erection details. Our buildings are typically submitted to comply with the Florida Building Code unless requested otherwise.
